Gavin Vella and Kerrod Veitch are both qualified electrical fitter mechanics with over 30 years combined experience; together we launched QETM in 2005.

Prior to starting QETM we both gained extensive experience, working for a major OEM company of electric drive trucks, we both were also extensively involved in repair and overhaul of OHV wheel motors, alternators and grid blowers, we were both considered industry leaders in this field.

Together we saw an opportunity to provide the mining industry with highly qualified and motivated electricians able to work on electric drive off highway haul trucks. We felt we could supply a higher quality of service than what was on offer at the time. After years in business we still remain committed and have been successful in providing great service since the launch of QETM.

We both have young families and have consistently been active in the community supporting junior sport through sponsorship, supporting local and various charities and donations towards the schools various fundraising efforts.

QETM now employs several qualified electrical fitter/mechanics. We also employ 2 apprentices who are already qualified auto electricians; once completing their electrical fitter mechanic trade apprenticeships they will finish as dual trade tradesman. QETM is committed to developing the skills of its staff to meet the demanding requirements in our industry.

Since 2005 the company has expanded and now offers services throughout Queensland, primarily to the mining industry. Our great reputation as licensed electrical fitter mechanics has stemmed from our reliability, cost effectiveness measures and their ability to ensure less downtime for any electrical truck fleet.

We have solid experience on both AC and DC drive systems, with DC statex 2 and statex 3 and AC invertex GE drive system, as used in 630,730,830,830 AC, 930 and 960 trucks, also used in Terex 3300,3700,and 4400.

QETM's expertise includes Komatsu and Terex payload meter systems, however our base knowledge of electrical fundamentals would allow us to work with Liebheer, Hitachi or Cat electric drive systems as our tradespeople are more than capable to adequately grasp these systems.

We are fully experienced in truck refurbishment & re-wiring of high voltage and low voltage systems on trucks & we have completed statex 2 to statex 3 conversions.

QETM's primary objective when working with any electrical truck fleet operation is to increase productivity & reduce operating costs, whilst working in a safe environment for our staff & partners.
